St. Andrews - Kingsbrae Garden

We're helping Birds, Bats & Butterflies at Kingsbrae Garden, with the help of children and adults! Great family fun: Kingsbrae Garden's B-B-Birdfest exhibit and contest open July 1st, St Andrews NB, with Bat-Butterfly-Birdhouses. Birds and other wild creatures are being bumped from their homes as their wild habitats are swallowed up to build more homes for people. Kingsbrae Garden's B-B-Birdfest contest addresses that need this summer, with entries of fun or functional Bat, Butterfly or Birdhouses in both adult and youth divisions. Registration fee is $25 to the entrant's choice food bank, by May 31. Entries to be delivered to Kingsbrae Garden Visitors Centre, top of King Street, St Andrews by-the-Sea (New Brunswick), from June 14th to 20th, between 10am and 5pm. The contest kicks off July 1st at Kingsbrae Garden, along with other Canada Day celebrations. On New Brunswick Day, August 2, 2010, winners of the B-B-B-irdfest contest will be announced at Kingsbrae Garden's "Flocktail Party"; everyone is invited. All contest entrants will receive two day passes to Kingsbrae Garden to come back for Flocktails, games and fun. The first 50 children at the party will each receive a fancy flowerpot cupcake. The winning Bird-Bat-Butterfly houses will remain at the Garden to be displayed throughout the 27-acre site, in the Bird & Butterfly Garden and elsewhere. In early October, the remainder will be donated to the Volunteer Centre and Food Bank of Charlotte County, to be auctioned off at a fundraising dinner. All entrants will be helping to feed the hungry… birds, bats, butterflies, neighbours and families facing hard times. Prize packages--and bird seed--for the top entries, as well as monetary donations to the food bank in winners' names. Information and registration forms available at www.kingsbraegarden.com. Kingsbrae Garden office is open Monday through Thursday in the winter, 8am to 4pm. Toll-free phone 866-566-8687. Office hours resume 8-4:30, Monday-Friday on April 6th Kingsbrae Garden will be open May 21 to October 9, 2010, daily, 9am to 6pm
